Exploding Man

Blake finished his piece (a draft was shared on Wednesday.)

Here is a preview of the final work, which will be available for sale shortly.  It's a giclĂ©e print, with added drawing, mounted onto three panels.  The panels are intended to be displayed askew (as on the preview below.)

Each panel is approximately 20 inches tall by 47 inches wide

Blake and Zoe will have a few more updates in the next upcoming days (including changes for this blog, our book projects, and our online presence...)

Works in Progress

Blake is working on a few new projects, (both independently and as an assistant to Zoe - more on her project(s) later)

He's been slowly adding new broadcasts and mixsets (with the elusive Joethelion) to his mixcloud, and there will be more to come soon... including soundtracks of original material for installations.

Blake also has been working on a new LARGE piece, which will be separated by at least three (3!!!) different panels.  It isn't quite finished yet, but here's a low resolution sample of the work as it exists now.  He is also in the middle of creating an artist book, collecting the entire series of 'exploding blob people' into one volume.

Note: Blake merged the pieces together so it would also fit nicely onto the blog...

(ch ch ch) Changes

Zoe completed two prints for an exchange / exhibition, Re-MKE.  The exhibition is a part of a series of shows for this year's SGC Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  We have already shared her original skype print, and here's part two of the project.  It's an interpretation of Jon Gourley's piece, Translation Issues

Zoe's version is called "Changes."  It is a two-color screen print:

Light Headed

Blake completed a landscape this week.  The piece is a bit of an oddity as, for the past year - he has been primarily focused on figure-based imagery.

The original (as well as prints*) is available on his Saatchi Page

Updates, New Work, and Side-Projects

We have been quite busy for the past few days... and it's looking like it's only going to be busier as the month goes on!

Zoe is preparing for her group exhibition this May in San Francisco while completing her print series, FOAMLESS = HOMELESS, and the Naked Mole Rat projects

She is also working with a group of other printmakers for a MAPC show in Wisconsin.

Additionally, we should be having a show (just Blake + Zoe) this Spring in San Francisco.  We haven't decided on the opening yet, but it will be listed on the blog when everything is confirmed.

Blake added another piece to his Saatchi Portfolio.  It is quite different from his most recent works, while still maintaining his particular method of drawing only in independent layers of CMYK

Additionally, Blake has been updating his Mixcloud Page...

Also, we realized that some of our videos, which have been posted onto Vimeo through the GSA have not been shared here.  These are higher quality streams than on Youtube (and do not have annoying commercials obstructing the pieces).

The two videos featured are:
