If you don't know much about them... they've always been sort of considered to be "the Pink Floyd" or "the Radiohead of techno music" (as a side note, Thom Yorke has been quoted as saying that UW were heavy influences on the band - especially, I'd say so on Kid A recordings like "Everything In Its Right Place" and "Idioteque".) Until recently, Underworld were known for playing heavily improvised shows - so no show was like another; songs could be extended out to massive lengths, some songs were tested out before their 'official' release while others were pretty much improvised on the spot.
This recording from 10/31/98 - Hugo d.Nite, A-Hoy, Rotterdam, Netherlands is also especially cool because of the songs that they played. It (like much of the '98 tour) is particularly HEAVY on improvisations, contains the unreleased song "Five Points", and has an early version of "Push Upstairs" (which showed up on their 1999 album "Beaucoup Fish")
Underworld's 1998 tour was primarily to 'work out' their new songs before they were finished for the "Beaucoup Fish."
