We made a dress!

Zoe and I are busy with moving into Portland, setting up a studio, building an exposure unit, and... we made a dress!

This is a prototype of a casual day dress, soon to be in funky patterns!

Scarves Almost Ready!

It has been a hectic, but productive few weeks.  Zoe and I are together again in San Francisco!

While getting accustomed to a new city and getting moved into an apartment, we have been working on quite a few different projects: a few prints, drawings, potentially a new book project... AND we're completing new scarves!

Once we have ironed the fabric and hemmed the edges, we will upload proper photographs with purchase information!

New Fabric Pieces

Zoe and I have been working on some new fabric pieces.

We already have them printed onto fine organic silk, we just haven't made the cuts or hemmed the edges.

But here are some preview pictures of the original designs.

A New Silk Scarf: 'Couples'

This is an image of the full scarf. We have it printed on organic silk.
It's 2ftx2ft

The drawings for the figures are done by Zoe, who is constantly making silly drawings. Blake and Zoe sorted through some of the drawings, looking for couples and pairs of characters. For this scarf, Blake did image editing, then the Zoe and Blake bickered about colors and layout until coming up with this final scarf. Hope you like it. More to come soon.

New silk scarf!

We just had another scarf printed this week, and we think it turned out great. The images are watercolors done by Zoe, which Blake and Zoe fixed up and turned into a pattern. The design was printed onto organic silk. Blake and Zoe are working on a few other designs so there will be more scarfs popping up in the next couple of weeks!

Two More Scarves

I was talking to Zoe the other day that we should do at least one more "pattern" scarf, and she asked what I thought it should be...

and I said: "How about a sexual innuendo scarf?"

She didn't get what I meant at first, so I was like - well, let's just put bananas and doughnuts in a repeating pattern all over a scarf. I described how the doughnuts should look - no bear claws, no eclairs, just simple round shapes with some frosting and mmmaybe sprinkles and gave random ideas about the bananas.

Zoe quickly drew up the pattern and I went down to the studio and printed it onto one of our new 'jersey' scarves.

Also - we got a message on our etsy site about a special order... The other photographs are of a 'prototype version' of how we'd do a navy scarf with white cranes. Because of our process, we can't print white. However, we can print the negative space a solid color, and use the cream background for the images. Although, we can print black cranes onto a navy piece of fabric.
