A New Drawing

Blake finished a new drawing, and prints of it are available through his Saatchi page...

The original is currently not for sale.

It is a large graphite (mechanical pencil) drawing over a thin, yellow watercolor wash.  The title, "Object Permanence" is taken from one of the fundamental concepts of developmental psychology.

Essentially, it is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they can't be directly experienced (heard/seen/touched/tasted)

Another squiggly drawing

Well, we're hemming the scarves slowly but surely. Each scarf will have a hand-rolled hem, which means scarves will be done in about 2 weeks, and we'll be posting them to Etsy.
Here's a new drawing.

So what went into the Auction?

On Friday, Blake was able to drop off the two images for the Govanhill Baths Art Auction...

Before leaving the prints, he took photos of the two pieces...

New drawings and a new friend

The top two drawings are new things by Zoe. The little monster at the bottom is a Blake and Zoe's new toy, which has a slot on the inside of his mouth perfect for holding zoe's ring.

Hot PInk Iceland

A few more hot pink landscapes. I've made 3 so far, but want to end up with a series of 4 or 6. The landscapes are based on photos I took in Iceland.

These are a few of a new series I'm making, which I'm hoping to turn into some kind of comic book maybe. The story is based on conversations between a man and his belly. I haven't figured out the text yet...

What Zoe's doing

So, Blake and I moved to Glasgow this fall. He's started at the Glasgow School of art for and MFA and I've started preparing for my grad school application by working on my portfolio more. Here's what I've been up to: The top is a drawing, the 2nd is a comic I'm working on about a silly story with blake, and the 3rd is a drawing of smiley, the man I sculpted below as part of my Iowa City action figures series.

Dogs and Babies

These are photographs from my dog and baby series. The series deals with the idea of parents leaving doggy to babysit. I drew them on nice paper with nice markers in a nice classroom on only the nice days.
