back in the saddle

So yea... I totally have not been great about regularly updating this blog. But, starting today - I PROMISE that there will be more regular updates (I'm aiming at daily ones, but I think I need to get a concise theme if I'm going to do that...)

also - it doesn't really help that "the man" took down the posts of my live mix sets
which makes no sense, as no one seemed to have troubles with my posting of individual songs by other artists....

so what's new with the Grocery?

• We now are selling our shirts & bags in Cedar Rapids, right across from Coe College at a store called The Shop Next Door if you're in town, you should totally stop by

• There are a few new designs over at our Etsy shop

• We are going to start doing more "one off" designs and alternate versions of pieces - instead of dedicating multiple shirts to just one image

• There is now a pretty sweet set of tote bags for people

...and that should be it for today

oh - and as a special gift.... here's something really cool that I found online.

It's a live radio special on the band, the Orb from 2006. Included in the folder, you'll find:
an hour-and-a-half mixset of the Orb's music (done by the guy hosting the show) and a great soundboard recording of the Orb from the "Okie Dokie It's the Orb on a Merry Car Tour"

I actually saw the Orb play on this tour, when I was living in Washington, DC. It was a great, but odd show. I brought my girlfriend (at the time) with me, and she was seriously one of maybe 2-3 girls there (and this was at the 9:30 Club... not a small place). Before the Orb played, Thomas Fehlmann played a "dex 'n fx"set of his own (he was/is 1/2 of the band). Alex Paterson (the leader of the band) hung out in the crowd during this part of the show (we had a brief conversation), then when Thomas was done, Alex just sort of jumped on stage... and the "proper show" began. When the Orb were finished, Thomas left - then Alex did a "Back to Mine" style dj set

There shouldn't be any issues with these files being online, as they're originally sourced from an online broadcast, and Alex Paterson himself said he didn't have a problem with this recording getting out.

Oh - and there will be a new mixset of my own coming out shortly... It's not going to be straight-forward dance-y and there will be a LOT of stuff going on (and more of my original productions/ edits) ... let's just say I'm kinda taking inspiration from the Orb (and FSOL)
