Busy Busy

Tonight we're driving out to Cedar Rapids, IA to drop off some more shirts, some scarfs, a canvas bag, and mmmmaybe some prints (it's dependent on getting envelopes to protect the images)

I uploaded the scarves on etsy today. I'm waiting to put up the new bag design and the new shirts for a day or two - as it seems to be the best way to promote yourself on that site...

but anyways - about the scarves. I think they came out REALLY well. We collaborated on each of them to get the final versions.

And although Zoe modeled for all of the scarves... I could easily see myself wearing the striped one

Dogs and Babies

These are photographs from my dog and baby series. The series deals with the idea of parents leaving doggy to babysit. I drew them on nice paper with nice markers in a nice classroom on only the nice days.

Blake and I are done with the University of Iowa (officially) I just graduated and Blake's heading to grad school next fall so we're spending the rest of the summer making stuff. Here's some new lithos I made, but they're all based on old drawings.

30 Minute Mix

I had some free time yesterday afternoon, and decided to do a short mix -

just some random new songs I've bought over the past couple of weeks and some old stuff thrown in...

So how did the show go?

You ask?

Well... it went off quite nicely actually. We had a great turnout, even though it was the same weekend as the big studio art open house (but that was on Friday). Zoe made FANTASTIC cupcakes from scratch and bruscetta (spelling?) with bread that I brought back from Whole Foods in Chicago.

Although, there were some 'snags'. Nothing too incredibly major or distracting from the actual show; basically I didn't get the big audio project done in time. Yeah, I know it wasn't completely necessary (it's not like we were doing an "installation" if you know what I mean)... we ended up just making a playlist of the source tracks for the "audio project" and played them on my iPod. Also, I still need to get Zoe to record some vocals over some instrumentals I've got.... I would have also liked to have done more stuff to the actual place we were showing our work, but that was impossible, as the space gets used on a daily basis.

We ended up having over 130 pieces up. Zoe & I put up the last 30 or so a half hour before the show opened - that, on top of making an absurd number of cupcakes basically made us both zombies for the first hour or so of the show... (side note: I think we kinda weirded out the couple that came in early on in the show.... just b/c we were totally spacing out)

All the pieces were attached straight to the wall, mixing both of our prints & drawings together and just arranging them by color (like how it is in the above picture.)

More photo's and details coming shortly...
