Update

It's been a while since I posted anything, and my trip to Athens totally wrecked my internal clock... I completely thought our show was going up this past Sunday (not next) - so a bit of needless panic but anyways...

I don't have any new images to put up yet... but I'm about to make a fabric run, to make some new scarves and "fabric art" tomorrow

Also - it seems that people either A) REALLY Like our posters or B) Someone's throwing them away

as they've pretty much all disappeared from the Studio Arts building (even our digital prints!)

Show!

Our show is finally going up. It was supposed to be up on the 15th (today) but do to a little complication at UpTown Bill's we'll be putting the show up on Monday. The reception date will stay the same.

The show will mostly be Zoe's work from the past 10+ years, but prints by Blake will also be in the show.

There will be prints, drawings, robots, birthday cards, sweet treats, and bright colors.

A Crowd

This is the digital version of a print I'm about to make happen! These are a small portion of the many many characters that I fill my sketchbooks up with every year....

This printed ended up being a digital print atop a monoprint. It's 22x30

Productivity

I think I could've taken better photo's... so they might change a little bit. Oh, and I've already replaced the Black Foil Version with another which doesn't have the rounded edges

Instead of getting ready for our show on Wednesday...

...I went to Chicago last night to see Atoms for Peace

Now - I'm sure many would say that this was 'slacking off'

but I mean, it's freaking' Thom Yorke and a great live band in a venue that would be way too small for Radiohead!

these are not your goats

Last week, I got a phone call about doing a new piece for a specific person/ location...

I wasn't given many guidelines, just that "it can't be weird, so no blood, no headless unicorns, and nothing really gross"

...which - come to think of it, is kinda like HALF of what I do! But anyways, I originally was going to do my friend Joe riding on a goat... the swimming kind

but it kinda got a bit awkward, just b/c goats are very small and Joe is very tall

I was able to draw it, but instead of it looking humorous - it just didn't look "right" b/c of the scale

so I think I'm going to tweak it around a bit, and instead of having the literal event pictured... maybe only something that alludes to the event

oh, and here are two goats I drew for the piece... which will probably will never be used

I was going to post up some new music stuff... but it seems google/blogger are cracking down on blogs right now. Like where they used to just give you a warning... now they're making them 'disappear' altogether

so instead, I'll share with you this cheap-but-cool music video by the Toxic Avenger. It's a nice alternative to all the ambient and 'out there' stuff I'm putting together for the show on May 2nd in Iowa City....
